A New Role

We are excited to announce that recently Tom Bychowski was promoted into the role of Dealer Development Specialist for Hamilton Engine and Palmer Johnson Power Systems (PJPS.) This is a new role within our company and it is exciting to add this position as we look to grow and strengthen our position as an industry leader in service. It’s equally exciting to me to be adding this role and to be able to put such a well-qualified team player in it. I feel our customers are the biggest ones to gain in this promotion!

Tom is located in the Seattle, WA area which sets him up well to focus on the Pacific Northwest and Alaska where Hamilton Engine recently acquired New DEUTZ Territory.

Enhanced Support

This Dealer Development role will greatly enhance the support we can provide our service dealers and ensures that we have the right qualified dealers in place. Tom was given this opportunity because in his time at Palmer Johnson Power Systems he has proven to be an extremely resourceful and well-respected customer service person and leader. Tom has been involved in three key acquisitions and has worked closely to support our remote service centers in full systems integrations. Tom understands the challenges remote Service Centers face when trying to deliver quality service work, on-time, in the face of shortages in administrative resources.

Tom embraces challenges with a positive attitude and an extremely diligent work ethic; he has the full backing of Andy Stehl, our Director of Service, and myself. Tom will report to Susan Schuster, our Service Programs Manager, and will ultimately be in charge of ensuring a full build out our Service Dealer Network in North America.

Strengthening our Service Dealer Network

In the new role, Tom will be responsible for ensuring that our extended Service Network, made up of remote Service Dealers, meets the ever-challenging needs of the markets, customers and vendors we serve. Tom will be tasked with getting to know our existing service network for both Palmer Johnson Power Systems and Hamilton Engine. As Tom works to understand the needs and challenges our Service Dealers face, he will work closely with our key vendors to support these dealers. In the near future, Tom will work to build out future dealership requirements, perform tooling audits and coordinate a series of train-the-trainer events, a Dealer Meeting and on-site systems training.

Depth of Off-Highway Knowledge:

  • Touchdown Tommy was added to Palmer Johnson in 2014 as an Inside Sales Representative. Straight out of the Business Marketing Program at Southern Illinois University Tom was responsible for handling inbound customer requests via phone/email, covering PJ’s 20+ product lines.
  • Tom quickly showed a knack for sales and after a couple years, moved to a hunter role where he was tasked with growing both new and existing customers that showed to have potential to do more business with PJPS.
  • After tremendous success in that role, Tom later joined our Key Account team where he was put in charge of some of Palmer Johnson’s most demanding accounts.
  • Tom then earned an opportunity to move into a supervisory role, to teach others. This was Tom’s last stop until now. As a Supervisor Tom earned the respect of his team and helped us build out our new customer sales process.

While there have been a lot of changes recently at Palmer Johnson Power Systems and the entire family of companies, rest assured that our top priority is still our customer. Appointing Tom in this role is one step we are taking to ensure our customers stay at the center of our focus. This will better position us to strengthen what is already one of the best north american service networks in the off-highway industry.
